The Boston Public Library, built in 1895, is a grand Renaissance Revival style structure. Conceived as a "palace for the people," it exemplifies Boston's 19th century municipal pride as well as Charles Follen McKim's genius for integrating architecture and art.

The project has been awarded the Harleston Parker Medal presented by The Boston Society of Architects.
