Bronx, New York
The Italian Fountain is situated in the Astor Court section of the Bronx Zoo and frequently referred to as the Rockefeller Fountain since its purchase by William Rockefeller as a donation to the New York Zoological Society in 1902. Two new pumps and other plumbing provisions allowed for the recreation of the water flow that appeared in early photographs of the fountain after it was installed in Astor Court.
